Why we exist
There is a real pink platypus. He is older than the company.

When I was four, we moved to Arizona. My brother and I ran into the room that was going to be ours, and there was a red metal bunkbed staged with a stuffed platypus on each bunk. Blue on top. Pink on the bottom. He was older and faster, so he got the top bunk and the blue one. I got the pink one.
That platypus has been with me ever since. He is faded, he has been sewn back together more than once, and these days he belongs to my daughters. So when it came time to name this company, I did not have to think very hard about it.
Here is the part that made it stick, though. A platypus is an odd little animal that does not fit into any category and does just fine anyway. That is a pretty good description of most of the businesses we work with, and it is a pretty good description of us.
Christopher Salamon, founder
We got into this because of a phone call.
We kept running into the same thing. Great businesses with fifty five-star reviews and no website. Owners who know their trade cold and have been told by three different salespeople that they need a $6,000 site and a $2,000 monthly retainer. So they do nothing, and they keep losing the customer who searched at nine o'clock at night and found somebody else.
We think that is a solvable problem, and we think it should cost less than a truck payment. So we built a company around doing it fast, doing it well, and being upfront about the price.
What we promise
Five things we will not bend on.
- We build it before you buy it.
- We tell you when you do not need us.
- You own your site, your domain, and your words.
- No contracts you need a lawyer to read.
- A person answers the phone.
